Painting onto glass

After discussing surface ideas at Wendy’s workshop,  I thought it would be interesting to paint onto glass. I found painting onto this surface quite difficult as the paint doesn’t latch on as it would with a fabric that has a tooth. However it was easy to wipe away the paint to add shadow. I also experimented with hanging the painted glass in front of the block colour fabric I have been using. I don’t think I will continue to work on glass for my final pieces though it is a good exercise in testing the painted scene out on many different coloured backgrounds before painting directly onto the fabric. This way I could plan out my colour combinations in advance and see what works best.
