Kurt Jackson

Kurt Jackson is an old favourite but it seemed fitting to revisit his work due to the direction my work is taking. Kurt Jackson creates extremely visceral, dramatic landscape paintings. Most of his work is inspired by the coast, working from life, experiencing all of the environment he is situated within whist painting and drawing. He uses a range of materials including paint alongside mixed media to add extra dimension and texture. The scenes he depicts are are created through experimentation of the medium, embracing the leaks and splatters of paint. I want to try and channel this through my own work, putting a focus on medium.
