Lynda Benglis is best known for her poured latex sculptures and wax paintings. Her work has strong themes of feminism, in protest against male dominated work at the time. Another key aspect of her work is that she is blurring the boundaries between sculpture and painting by pouring straight onto the floor, exploring shape, movement and form without the aid of a canvas. I find her work inspirational and want to explore these themes within my own work. To me the pieces look frozen in time, and seem to capture a gesture.
